Welcome to the International Conference on Digital Health and Telemedicine 2023 (DigiHT 2023) which will take place from the 19th – 20th October 2023 in Virtual Platform. Keynote Froum (Group Presentation by Professor Ray Jones and team) Centre for Health Technology at the University of Plymouth UK
Title: “Addressing Digital Health Equity: experiences from the UK”
This keynote presentation is by a team from the Centre for Health Technology at the University of Plymouth, UK led by Professor Ray Jones PhD MBE. Professor Jones’ long career included developing and evaluating pre-Internet public access kiosks, randomised controlled trials of empowering patients through access to their medical records, and getting volunteers to support older people to use the Internet. Dr Bradwell has carried out numerous studies on the design and impact of care robots for older people and with Leonie Cooper and others is exploring intergenerational codesign of digital technologies to keep older people active. Dr Baxter is also working with colleagues on intergenerational codesign with novel technologies to address digital equity. Dr Thomas and Samantha Prime are involved in projects that address both geographical and digital health inequities across specialties. The team will give examples of this work from the UK.
